March 2010

Greetings wine club members!

Spring is so welcome here in the valley and it is always great to see the vines start to push. We have been busy in the vineyards pruning back the shoots so that each vine will hang just the right amount of fruit for the best maturation before harvest. We take soil samples and make adjustments as well and petiole samples from the first leaves to determine fertilization requirements and water needs throughout the growing season.
The heavy rains this past winter will certainly inspire the vines to hang an above average yield this year.

Our new tasting and event building is well on its way to completion and will be awesome for all of us to enjoy for years to come. We will be featuring a special wine club reception area for members only on the mezzanine loft with a spread of delicious cheeses, meats, and desserts to pair with our wines. Can’t wait for this!!

The Cowboy Bistro is doing well. We have recently added a few new items to our menu including Filet Mignon and Seared Ahi at a price point that is unbelievably low. Stop by sometime and check it out if you haven’t already. Grace, Phoenix, and Daniel have really worked hard to provide the best experience for all of our customers there. Thanks to them and congratulations on the Bistro’s success!

Wines this month
Our selections this time are our newly released Estate Syrah as well as a new vintage of our famous Unfiltered Merlot that is definitely the best we’ve ever produced.

As always, we are very thankful for your membership and interest in our wines as well as the friendships that we cultivate and fun times spent with all of you. You really are family to us as a member of our wine club!!

Sincerest regards and ~ Enjoy!!

John, Susie, and all the Longshadow Gang!!
